Publication of the Dewesoft Doughnut case study

Publication of the Dewesoft Doughnut case study, 4 November 2024

14 companies across the world, among them Slovenian Dewesoft, Scott Bader, AMA Water Ambev and Patagonia, became the subject of the first series of case studies that explore real-world businesses through the perspective of the Doughnut Design for Business. Published on the Doughnut Economics Action Lab platform on 4 November 2024.

Doughnut Design emphasises the fundamental role of a business's purpose, ownership, networks, governance and finance, for shaping its relationships and practices with and towards its social and natural environment.
Dewesoft case study in particular illustrates the role of employee ownership and embeddedness into local regional networks in pursuing regenerative and distributive approaches in doing business.

Dewesoft is a global top 5 Data Acquisition (DAQ) company; it designs advanced hardware and software for testing and measurement equipment used by test engineers across many industries. The company is based in Trbovlje, a region in Slovenia once associated with coal mining and heavy industry.

It was a pleasure cooperating with Dewesoft and Erinch Sahan on writing this case study and placing a story from Slovenia on the Doughnut map!
