Social entreprises: distinctive features, opportunities and challenges, 21 November 2024
The 3-hour online event dedicated to social entreprises was held on the 21st of November 2024, the world Social Entreprise Day, and focused on the meaning of collaborations for the success of the social entreprises, and in particular the crucial role of partnerships with and support from the classic entreprises.
For classic companies, such collaborations present an opportunity to introduce concrete CSR practices and generate social benefits.
The importance of social entrepreneurship awareness, societal support and the role of the state were highlighted during the event.
The meaning of the social economy and social entrepreneurship in Slovenia is poorly known and mostly misunderstood, and the public perception of social enterprises is often very different from reality.
Innovation, efficiency, advanced technologies, international success, transparency and accountability are all part of social entrepreneurship. Some of the world's most high-profile social enterprises include Patagonia, Plastic Bank, Fairphone and Grameen Bank
